The Sony Handycam TG1

Here is a successor to the Sony Handycam TG1. The new TG5V (or TG7 in Europe) is now lighter and smaller than its predecessor. Weighing at 230 grams and measuring 30mm x 117mm x 62mm, the camera has 16GB of Internal memory (or 6hours of video recoding), a 30mm wide angle, a new BIONZ and Exemor image processor for low light recording, and new coating for the Camera body to prevent scratches. What makes this camcorder special is that it has an integrated GPS antenna and NAVTEQ maps that can be used to automatically geo-tag videos or images to keep a record of the exact shooting location. The Sony Handycam TG5V will be available in Japan from April 20 onward.

Does it shoot HD? I have been thinking it might just be time to pick up a video camera to go with the DSLR. Need that resolution though.

Geo-Tag is a important function because could be usuful in some part in collecting evidence in crime sector too.

The TG7 looks like a great piece of kit. I believe you can pick up one of these over here for just over £500. Definitely worth it.:D
