The Alpinist line has been Seiko’s product for upscale outdoorsmen. Designed for the ‘Yamatoko’, these are watches for those who hike and climb mountains. Over the 1961, Seiko has introduced both mechanical and quartz versions, many with compass bezels and usually waterproof to an unusual 200m (660ft). The case shape has changed considerably, and the crown is now at the 4 o’clock position..
This is the details for Alpinist Model..
There are three new models, all with the 6R15 mechanical movement. First off is the SARB059 :

Stainless case and bracelet, black dial, red compass markings on the chapter ring, and a nifty combined compass/time bezel. In common with the other models, it has a screwdown crown, domed mineral glass crystal, screwdown caseback, 23-jewel movement and accuracy rated to -15/+25 seconds per day. Handsome, unobtrusive, and a very legible face. I like the nice touch of white-on-black date window and bold hands. The Price is about $600..
Next up is the ion-plated black SARB063 :

For that, you get a plated case and bracelet, which gives the watch a fashionable flat black look. The black-framed hands are a trifle less legible but still quite readable in my opinion. The white-on-black bezel pops visually, and looks very functional. The Price is about $720..
Last but not least is the budget model SARB061 :

For that, you get a rubber strap instead of a bracelet, and only the bezel is ion-plated for a nice contrast with the stainless steel case. The Price is about $580..

Here is a successor to the Sony Handycam TG1. The new TG5V (or TG7 in Europe) is now lighter and smaller than its predecessor. Weighing at 230 grams and measuring 30mm x 117mm x 62mm, the camera has 16GB of Internal memory (or 6hours of video recoding), a 30mm wide angle, a new BIONZ and Exemor image processor for low light recording, and new coating for the Camera body to prevent scratches. What makes this camcorder special is that it has an integrated GPS antenna and NAVTEQ maps that can be used to automatically geo-tag videos or images to keep a record of the exact shooting location. The Sony Handycam TG5V will be available in Japan from April 20 onward.

I’ve been on the look recently for a very tiny pouch or wristlet to use as a clutch. I want something small enough to fit easily in my hand that will hold only the very essentials – house key, car key, ID, cash, phone. But the phone is where I’m hitting an impasse, because I have an enormous Blackberry with an even more enormous clear plastic shell to keep it safe. As such, the thing is approximately the size of a small computer, and even if I can find a wristlet into which it fits, nothing else will fit alongside it. So I’ve decided to get a bit creative in my current search, and this morning came across something that could potentially work very well – the Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis Cosmetic Pouch MM. I realize that it’s meant to hold lipsticks and whatnot inside of a larger bag, but since it doesn’t have cosmetic pouch emblazoned on it anywhere, I doubt anyone would know the difference. Besides, I’m all for repurposing things. At any rate, it looks like it’s just small enough to fit in my hand while being just big enough to contain my giant brick of a phone, and it zips all the way across the top, lest I drop it or hit anyone in the head with it. Perfect! On top of all that, amarante is my favorite color of LV vernis ever and would go really well with all the black I tend to wear. The price is around $450.
